New York, NY (November 10, 2015) — Crowdtap, the People-Powered Marketing Platform, was recently honored by two prestigious trade awards programs: MediaPost’s Digital Out-of-Home Awards, which recognizes the most creative and innovative marketing in digital out-of-home media, and the WOMMY Awards, the premiere industry awards for word-of-mouth and social media marketing.
In MediaPost’s Digital Out-of-Home Awards, Crowdtap was honored for its collaboration with innovation agency Forever Beta on behalf of Pernod Ricard’s ABSOLUT Labs, an internal incubator designed to help the brand explore new ways of connecting with consumers at the intersection of technology and nightlife.
Crowdtap, Forever Beta and ABSOLUT took home top honors for “Best Location-Based Execution” for ABSOLUT Reality, a unique program that leveraged VR headsets and a nationwide community of brand advocates to bring a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience to thousands of music lovers within the comfort of their homes. Crowdtap built a community of peer influencers based on demographic and psychographic targeting and recruited passionate technology and music fans to host branded livestream parties while a live concert took place at one of Brooklyn’s hottest clubs.
The Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) also recognized Crowdtap and its annual WOMMY Awards ceremony. Crowdtap, along with partners at digital agency DigitasLBi and Whirlpool Corporation, won the Gold WOMMY Engagement Award for the brand’s “Every Day, Care” campaign, which helped build more emotional connections with consumers by amplifying simple acts of care in the home.
The brand’s largest advertising initiative to-date, Whirlpool partnered with Crowdtap and DigitasLBi to move away from product-focused marketing, instead inspiring real people to share their stories on social media. Crowdtap’s technology enabled Whirlpool to inspire, curate and repurpose authentic user-generated content across its paid and owned channels. In six months, the brand was able to lift sales by 6.6 percent and saw a 6X increase in positive online brand sentiment.
“Crowdtap is proud of the partnerships we’ve built with brands and their agency partners alike and we’re thrilled to see this innovative work receive recognition within the industry,” said Mindy Davis, SVP of Professional Services at Crowdtap. “As marketers increasingly explore more consumer-centric approaches to their marketing, we look forward to powering content and conversations for future campaigns that push the boundaries of traditional advertising.”
